Desde hace más de una década se han extendido en numerosos países de occidente las teorías y las políticas queer. La incorporación de la cultura gay dominante al mercado capitalista, la crisis del Sida y las luchas iniciadas por lesbianas y transexuales, chicanas y negras a finales de los 80 dieron lugar a una serie de movimientos políticos sociales y radicales que serán después elaborados por la academia en lo que se denomina «teoría queer».
Este libro da cuenta de la complejidad de este movimiento, al que no ha sido ajena la realidad sociopolítica de los movimientos de maricas, bolleras y transexuales del estado español (grupos como LSD o La Radical Gai representaron ese tipo de militancia queer en los años 90). A partir del Curso de enseñanza abierta de la UNED «Introducción a la teoría queer» organizado por Paco Vidarte y Javier Sáez entre los años 2003 y 2005, se recogen en esta obra colectiva las diversas vertientes de análisis que han producido las políticas queer en los últimos años.
Lo queer no es ninguna teoría, son multitudes marginadas, excluidas, personas que han sido expulsadas de sus casas o de sus lugares de origen y que viven en situaciones sociales y económicas difíciles. El análisis de esos procesos de exclusión dio lugar a lo que llamamos teoría queer, que no es una teoría cerrada o un corpus de saber, es un conjunto de herramientas críticas para la intervención política: críticas de la normalidad heterosexual, de las prácticas biopolíticas de la medicina y del estado sobre los cuerpos enfermos y sanos, de las mutilaciones que sufren l@s intersexuales, de la mirada colonial sobre las inmigrantes bolleras, trans o maricas, de la apropiación académica de las luchas populares, de la rigidez de las marcas de género con que se excluye a las personas transexuales.
Lo queer incorpora nuevas lecturas de la literatura, la arquitectura o el cine, y hace proliferar cuerpos y prácticas inclasificables para el dispositivo de sexualidad: sadomasoquistas, bolleras lobo, osos con pluma, transgéneros, cibersexos, drag kings, hiperfemmes, trabajador@s del sexo, post pornógraf@s...
Lo queer supone una apertura de líneas de fuga que corrompen el sistema binario y naturalizado de sexo y género. Es una forma de resistencia al régimen biopolítico en que vivimos: el «heterrorismo» internacional.
