Condensed version of bravery and mistakes

Hyslop has penned a gripping tale of how the many players of this great battle converged upon a crossroads. Other moment by moment accounts give curdling detail. I found this book to be accurate without being gory. Perhaps it is the intro your youth are searching for.

Disappointing

The preview indicated that this book covered the aftermath of Gettysburg and the incredible task of dealing with the wounded and the ensuing problems. Instead it was simply a very short synopsis of the battle.
