Great minus romaji - no kana used in the book basically. :-(

Amazing guide and love the 2 colors. Makes it super easy to read and you won't lose your place in overwhelming paragraphs of black text. However be warned: I didn't research before purchasing. There is almost no kana or kanji in this book. It is all completely romaji. I personally hate romaji - my teach was anti-romaji and we learned kana the first 2 days of class. Romaji was completely forbidden. So I have been trained to not like romaji AT ALL and don't like when books include it or ONLY use it.
Otherwise this is a fantastic book. Tiny size yet packed with wonderful material. I wish there was a kana and fumigant version available. I would buy that in a heartbeat.

A reference guide for your pocket... or kindle

After checking out a copy from my local library, I simply had to get this for myself. It condesenses the "what-you-need-to-know" elements of Japanese grammar into something convenient and informative to keep around.
"Barron's Japanese Grammar" is reference manual for the beginner-intermediate speaker that accurately and briefly explains every essential element of conversational Japanese language with samples and entries on par of those in a dictionary. The content is similar to "summary" sections in the Living Language Japanese course books. About the only flaw are its dimensions - it seems like the publisher wanted to make a pocket size edition or else they have a strange idea of just how large the average clothing pocket is.
Nonetheless, the price and content should encourage those learning Japanese to get a copy for those extended stays in Japan or as an elaborate cheatsheet for classroom courses.

A useful compendium for the student of Japanese.

Text is in romaji and English to simplify learning; tables of hiragana & katakana are included at the beginning. Covers all parts of speech well with good examples as well as a number of special topics such as sections on time, dates, numbers, family, useful expressions, and loan words (including those modified by the Japanese to shorten long expressions). Also includes sections on pronunciation to show that vowel length and consonant length (double consonants) are important to meaning. I find this book very helpful in my study of the Japanese language.
